A Bad Start

30 Nov

What a way to start my day.

I had a sleepless night last night because I was really nervous about the course registration this morning.

The system in UM is that you register online on a certain date at 9am.

I overslept the first time because I went clubbing the night before, so it’s my own fault I didn’t get the classes I wanted.

Then the second time I was away in Kelantan for BTN, so I had to rely on Ang to register for me.

So yeah, again, I didn’t get the classes I wanted.

I really wanted to change things this time as I’m at home, so I planned to wake up at 8am, just in case anything goes wrong, like Maxis broadband suddenly cannot work or something.

Oh, why am I so scared, I can always register a bit later right? One two minutes make no difference?

I was only late by 5 minutes the first time, as they say the registration only starts at 9am.

But thing is, by 8.45am, people start sitting in front of their computers and keep refreshing the page already.

So as soon as it’s open, and usually it opens like 10 minutes before 9, people start registering. By 9, all classes are full already.

I sat in front of my computer this time, at 8.15am.

Ready with a cup pf Nescafe somemore.

And I joined the rest of the kiasu people and kept refreshing.

But again, I was too late for a few classes.

I seriously don’t understand how this system works.

How is it possible to be full in a matter of seconds?

And classes that are full are core subjects that I need to finish before proceeding to the next semester.

So how am I going to continue with what ever I want to do?

And I cannot get the elective course I wanted, meaning it’s more difficult for me to continue with the major I wanted earlier.

This is seriously frustrating.

Party at Aunt Lowell’s

29 Nov

So, it was Aunt Lowell’s, or more fondly known as Kao Bie to my family, house warming party plus baby Ivan’s one month’s party.

Remember the little cousin in my previous post? Well, he’sΒ a month oldΒ now! πŸ™‚

It wasn’t anything big, just a small kinf of gathering with the family and close relatives.

#1. Food!

The typical kind of food you get in a house party but this certainly taste different!

It was by far the best party food I had!

And all were home cooked! πŸ™‚

Meet my favourite little cousin sister.

#2. Qii Qii

She was on such good mood last night!

Usually she will give that beh song face when you ask her to pose for the camera but last night she siap siap pose! πŸ™‚

Just look at her!!! Super duper adorable right! πŸ™‚

Okay, random pictures of the party as follows.

Sorry yah, a bit lazy to write today. πŸ˜‰

#4. Fei, Kao Bie & Baby Ivan

#5. Time to eat!!

That’s my eldest cousin brother Ming Yang, Aunt Siew Lan, half of cousin Ming Derk and my youngest cousin brother Ming Nyet.

Some of you may wonder, why Ming Nyet is the youngest when there’s baby Ivan?

Well, baby Ivan is actually my grand aunty’s grandson. A bit confusing, but what ever lah, still family. πŸ™‚

#6. Yee Poh & Fei

And that is my grand aunty! Or more fondly known as Yee Poh.

She used to be our nanny, too. She came and lived with my family when I was only a month old until I was about 15 years old, I think.

This explains why my younger siblings are extremely close to her. πŸ™‚

#7. Everyone filling up their tummies.

People always complain I take picture of them eating, so I took from the back instead. πŸ™‚

#8. Fei & baby Ivan

#9. Baby Ivan & I

#10. Like mother, like daughter. πŸ™‚

#11. Fei & I

So yup, that’s about it. At about 10 plus all of us left. πŸ™‚

Gosh, it’s the course registration tomorrow morning and I’m really nervous about it.

It’s the third time I’m registering and the first two times were seriously disastrous.

I overslept the first time and I was in the forest the second so I had to rely on my friends to register for me. 😦

Please let tomorrow be different. *fingers crossed

New Moon

28 Nov

I seriously want to watch New Moon!!!

I’ve heard loads of bad reviews about this movie but seriously, I don’t care at all and I am going to watch it.

People always say it’s lame and ridiculous and Kirsten Stewart can’t act but hey, it’s just a movie lah.

Since when any of the movies we watch make any sense in real life.

You want realistic movies then better don’t watch any cause in reality, there’s no wizard schools, no immortality, and strangers don’t fall in love that often like in the movies!

I won’t call myself a fan of TwilightΒ  cause if Robert, Taylor or any of the casts are here in Malaysia, I don’t think I will take the effort to queue and scream their names just to see them from afar.

Anyhow, my point is, I watched Twilight and I read all four books so I think I will want to watch all the movies also!

I mean, since I’ve already started might as well continue right?

But thing is, I’m going back university again for the Royal Debates until the 8th.

Let’s just hope the movie is still showing by the time I get back.

Papparich on a Friday Night

21 Nov

Okay, I finally got out of the house and enjoyed some real entertainment! πŸ™‚

Guess who’s back!

#1. Heng!!!

Yay! The BFF is back!!! πŸ™‚

He insisted on going Papparich cause apparently Labuan got no good coffee. Haha.

Another sampat was with us too!

#2. Cassie!

This girl can never take a decent picture, seriously. πŸ˜‰

It was so fun despite the fact we do nothing much, but to sit and talk all night only.

Yumcha sessions are always the best way to hang out cause it doesn’t require that high cost and definitely not energy consuming.

I am officially on a holiday! πŸ™‚

Poke All Day!

19 Nov

Okay, the title sounds a bit wrong. Haha!

Holidays started like about one week only and I’m starting to rot at home already.

So I go online pretty often and what else to do if not FB when you online the whole afternoon.

And I use this application pretty often, just to amuse myself on the funny things you’re able to do with your friends or your friends’ avatar, to be more exact. πŸ˜‰

#1. 😦

Hahaha! Buddypoke!

That is my avatar before I changed her appearance.

And yes, that was really how I felt just now!

#2. L.O.V.E

And this is after I changed her hairstyle, added some eye shadow, changed her shoes and added a watch.

Surprisingly I used a lot of pink. I used to hate pink like anything. Haha!

I got bored and changed her appearance again.

#3. Me like BLUE!

Okay fine, I know I am getting lamer by the day.

First it was Plants vs Zombies, now Buddypoke.

But hey, try staying in the house with nothing on the TV to watch and no more blogs to read cause you’ve read them just yesterday, see you’ll turn lame like me or not!

I need some real entertainment before I go nuts.

Of Awful Card and Grand Imperial

17 Nov

It’s 16th November (as I started out typing) and 16th November is a big day in the Choong’s.

It’s Mommy and Fei’s birthday. Yes, both of them share the same birthday. πŸ™‚

When the clock struck twelve, Fei presented Mom with a handmade card by Fei and I, signed by the rest of the family.

#1. The front cover

#2. The inside

Β Reason I’m posting it up here is not because I’m super proud of it.

But I think it’s super funny cause Fei’s artwork is like a kindergarden student’s. πŸ˜‰

She did the front cover, while I tried my best to makeΒ the insideΒ look more mature.

Really cannot do anything. Too colourful. πŸ™‚

Then just a moment ago, we went for dinner at the Grand Imperial (yes, again).

This time, we ordered the dishes ourselves, not the set kind of meal.

We had Peking Duck…

which they serve in such a way whereby the inside is…

super crunchy but not too oily duck skin. Super delicious!

Then we had some tofu thingy with vegetables.

I think it doesn’t look that good here but it’s seriously because the photographer (Ehem, me) suck.

The tofu was really good and that vege is my favourite vege! I think it’s called siu pak choy, small white vege. πŸ™‚

After that it was the lamb!

#6. Super yummy lamb!!!

I didn’t know they actually serve like this as in individual portions in Chinese restaurants and from the way they presented that heavenly tasty meat, it sure feels like I was at a Western restaurant.

And the lamb, they actually used erm… some kind of leaf as the spice. It’s called something like fat fong kam yip in Cantonese. Any idea what’s the English term for it?

Anyway, my point is it was so special and it tasted really really good!

The best part is each plate only cost RM7 something cause it was on promotion! πŸ™‚

Okay, enough of lamb. We had eels too!!!

Not something my dad usually orders but really worth the try! It was very nice as well!!! πŸ™‚

The last time we had this prawn and broccoli thing and we liked it very much so here it is again!

Super big fat juicy prawn. πŸ™‚

After that they came with some noodles that was fried with the earlier Peking duck!

You eat the skin first with the sauce and popiah skin-like thing then you eat the meat with the noodles later. πŸ™‚

Okay, I know this may be a very common thing but it’s my first time!!!

Noodles were so-so only probably because I was a bit full already. πŸ™‚

And that’s all we ordered so no more dish lah, then the waitress did this to our napkins.

My dad say maybe they’re preparing us for desserts but we didn’t order any so we were hoping for free desserts. πŸ™‚

They were all minding their own businesses, so Fei and I went to the toilet. Hehe!

Toilet breaks are essential for girls!

There are more but I guess I should just keep it to myself. Haha!

When we went back, there were really free desserts and it happens to be one of my favourite desserts too!!!

#13. Tau Foo Fah! πŸ™‚

The bill then came and it was about RM400 which I think is quite worth it compared to the last time we went there.

No, obviously we didn’t get richer now.

It’s the big day of Mom and Fei after all. πŸ™‚

Divide the amount, it’s only RM200 per person actually. Haha.

Best part is, I didn’t even contribute a cent or any form of present besides the awful looking card to make their birthdays better. Sigh.

It’s the end of semester which also means my PTPTN habis already.

Another semester k darlings, and I promise I’ll get something really meaningful for you guys. πŸ˜‰

Happy belated birthday again Mommy and Fei!

14 Nov

#1. Hi-Fibre Cheesecake

I am HOME!!! πŸ™‚

Yes, I’m done with the exams (as mentioned a few hundred times on FB) so I’m back since Friday night.

I didn’t want to come home that early as there are still things unsettled in the university, like application procedures for the coming internship, scholarship, and laid-back sessions with the bunch. Hehe!

But it’s Mom and Fei’s birthday soon so better be home to not miss any celebration. Just in case.

And I was just in time for Fei’s surprise on Friday night itself.

Her long time buddy, Kylie and Malcolm came over with a High-Fibre Cheesecake (as shown above), which is one of the very few things Fei eat during her diet times.

#2. Malcolm, Fei, & Kylie

The surprise was a success, obviously. Fei is the blurrest person on Earth so it’s super easy to surprise her. πŸ™‚

#3. The success!

If you guys haven’t noticed, Fei was still in her home clothes/pajamas. πŸ™‚

She had no intentions to change pun despite the photo-taking and friends-coming-over.

Well, she’s just being herself I guess. πŸ˜‰

Malcolm came with a guitar and played her the birthday song when they surprised her and for some reasons, my Mom cried.

Okay, so my Mom and Fei share the same birthday but still, they came for Fei.

Why is it that Mom was the one who cried?

No idea. Mom being herself, I guess. Haha!

#4. With Mom

Oh yah, it was the first timeΒ me meetingΒ Malcolm actually.

Apparently Alyssa, also Fei’s long time buddy (Kylie, Alyssa and Fei were inseparable in school last time) and Kylie wanted to match-make Fei and him.

I keep telling Fei I’m with Aly and Kylie also!

Malcolm seems like a good guy! πŸ™‚

Anyways, Heng is going to be back this Thursday! πŸ™‚

Can’t wait, can’t wait!!!
