Work So Soon?

29 May

Many people around me know I’m done being a student (finally!) and more often thanย not, the question is “What’s next?”

And as always, I won’t even stop to think twice about answering them, “Work, of course.” And strangely, I’m even quite certain as to which sector I want to join. But in specific, which department is still a big question.

Thing is, I get remarks from people about me wanting to join the ‘boring working people, lifeless category of the society’ so soon.ย Probably because they are those who opt to go for exchange programmes, going abroad and like they always say, “See the world!”

Well, those who know me pretty well would know that I’ve never agreed much to the idea of going for student exchange programmes, unless IF AND ONLY IF they are free and highly beneficial, totally helpful in my career next time.

Major reason to me is because sometimes, it isn’t about what you WANT to do but it is about what you NEED to do.

Not that my parents have been bugging me to work, please take note of that. My mom actually urged me to sign up for any programmes that came along the way after hearing about my room mates’ experiences.

But really, I just don’t really fancy the idea that when you are supposed to be working, easing your parents’ burden you go off to a programme abroad and sometimes, the worst just happens; you in return need funding from them.

Don’t get me wrong, go on ahead with what you intend to do with your life. This post wasn’t written to indirectly (or directly)ย sound those who are going for exchange programmes. Yours truly merely want to put her writing skills to practice and get something off her mind.

And blogging has always been very useful in making me forgetting about something. ๐Ÿ™‚

I totally understand the fact that everyone of us are different in our ways – we have different life ambition altogether. Totally respect that. ๐Ÿ™‚

But oh well, if I don’t go on about criticizing you wasting your parents’ hard-earned cash and all that potential money you should’ve brought back if you haven’t gone abroad, don’t go questioning my eagerness to work. ๐Ÿ™‚

Like I said, we have different life ambition and goals altogether.

Let’s just put it this way.

If I really want to go abroad and see the world, I’d rather go with the whole family.ย Quiteย pointless to me to go somewhereย andย ‘syok sendiri’ –ย comeย back tell Momย also she won’t really understand what am I talking about. ๐Ÿ˜€ย

And I come from quite a big family so to get all six of us to somewhere, even just locally it’ll require some (a lot of) money. So until I get enough money to bring the whole family for a holiday, I’ll just have to work and save!

But right now, to get a job I NEED MY STUPID RESULTS!!!

So please respected staffs of the university, I beg you to faster process my results (because my lecturers are done marking) and release them online already!

Gosh, speaking of randomness I can really jump across topics. >.<

Off to dinner now. Hope everyone had a good weekend! โ™ฅ

Pretty Saturday Afternoon!

29 May

It’s been a while since I last posted something here but seriously, life hasn’t been entertaining AT ALL with absolutely nothing new so there wasn’t a point in writing a new entry.

Anyways, since I’m back that means I have done something out of the norm today!

Yes yes I’ve been finding all sorts of reason to upload so when I get to do something worth blogging about I will immediately tell the world!

Just this afternoon, I attended a workshop by RMK at Chinoz on the Park, KLCC along with Audrey, Fei and Eva.

For noobies like us, the workshop was extremely useful! Only downside is now we’ll have to really save up to get those tools! ๐Ÿ˜€

Best part of the whole workshop is their make up artist and assistants were really helpful and attentive, despite the fact that we may not be potential buyers of their products at all!

Customer service comes as the number one priority to me. Sometimes I will buy something even if I haven’t planned to just because the sales assistant is too kind!

Unfortunately more often than not I get snobbish sales assistant in the cosmetic line. Just because I don’t use much of make-up and I don’t look like the wealthiest girl ever doesn’t mean I won’t buy anything!

So yes, as I said the make-up artists today were really nice! Double thumbs up to RMK for this!

Another awesome part of this workshop is they actually let us try to do the steps on our own first and if we really don’t know only they’ll help!

But oh well, my make-up artist was too kind I’m too lazy so she did all the steps for me! What a way to pamper myself ey? ๐Ÿ™‚

Tadaaa! Skip all the steps in between cause seriously she was so good at it that I just want to close my eyes and open to see a prettier me. LOL!

But really, I am having what my sisters call the ‘bad face period’; annoying red pimples everywhere but the foundation sealed all nicely and yet I don’t look like I’m wearing a mask made out of concealer! ๐Ÿ™‚

#5. Audrey getting help from Fara

So nice right! And this is probably the very few pictures of her these few days because that crazy girl thinks she looks too hideous for pictures on normal days. =.=

#7. Eva, Fei and their make up artist

These two young ladies sure transformed themselves after the workshop too! With help from the pretty make up artist with them of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

#8. Us with the Japanese make-up artist!

#9. Aud & I

#10. Fei & I

And to wrap this ‘pretty’ post is a naked face of mine. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just something to show how amazing the products of RMK were.

p.s: I know there might be other brands with equally as good or even better products but you must try getting something from RMK because their artists are really helpful! For noobs like me, you should really really go to them and ask for help! ๐Ÿ™‚

18 May

Results fresh from the oven faculty is out. I wouldn’t say I’m devastated over it but I’m just glad it’s done and over with, officially.

Done in the sense I’m done with my degree of course. Whether or not I’m going to pursue further education, it depends on the necessity of it, really. I’m not keen of course, I had enough of studying but if there is a need for it then why not, right?

Well, I’m both happy and sad the university life is officially over.

And I am not exactly used to idea of not studying or going to classes yet, I still feel guilty if I watch the tv for too long. I would have to pause a while then only I will remember I don’t need to study anything anymore at the moment.

And of course, one thing that is definitely somewhat awkward is the idea of not going back to 3rd College anymore. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I miss everything about the college, strangely. The toilets, strange insects, funny smell along the corridors, screaming neighbours and even the DM Mak Cik and Aunties.

(Mak Cik is what we call the Malay college helpers while Auntie is for the Indians. Don’t ask me why because I don’t know as well)

And I miss my room mates. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Okay, just five from the picture above are my room mates but I know the whole bunch from college and they’re all awesome people! ๐Ÿ™‚

Not forgetting the other group of people I spend half of the time in university with – my course mates.

#2. Christine, Pei Ling, myself, sayang & Meddy

Oh yes, we were all at Langkawi, sort of like a trip to celebrate our graduation. ๐Ÿ™‚

I miss all the benefits of staying in the same college as Chai as well. Now I can no longer ‘coincidentally’ bump into him while heading to dinner. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

#4. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sigh, it feels weird not having to worry about the registration for courses, which room am I getting and which notes I haven’t photostat.

But on the bright side, I’m going to be able to work already! ๐Ÿ˜€

Grand Finale and the Birth of Moon.

16 May

It was the most pessimistic roomie’s birthday. The one whose cupboard is filled with 98% of black clothings and 2% of whites.

I’m of course talking about Moon! ๐Ÿ˜€

This silly girl has such a one of a kind thinking that she actually thought we went out without her! Which explains the tears. ๐Ÿ˜€

The idea was to ‘coincidentally’ bump into her and Wai who brought her out ‘unplanned’. But we all thought it was pretty obvious with just two remaining seats left at the table! Little did we know she’s so silly to think we actually really went out, what more to her favourite restaurant without her. xD

She was so emotional the whole time until we brought out her customized cupcakes!

The girl was still shocked up till this point but we decided to ignore her and camwhore all the way.

#5. Emo birthday girl with my handmade card

#6. Elen with her boyfie

#7. Louise, Felicia & Choon Roei

#8. My two lovely roomies!

There are more with Louise since her DSLR obviously produce better quality pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚ After dinner, we decided to move onto second rounds – KARAOKE!

We went to the Loud Speaker Karaoke and was delighted at first to be given additional 30minutes of the session by the Manager. Then when the first room we used had some technical problems, they immediately replaced us with the VIP Room. ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, we think it’s the VIP room because they had a personal toilet in the room, projector LCD and even disco lights! Not forgetting the enormous space in the room and the mini bar!!!

#11. Shake that!

That night karaoke wasn’t just about singing, we made full use of the space and shake our butts out, trying to impersonate the Korean girl and boy bands. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve never enjoyed karaoke so much, seriously! We were so crazy till we got people looking, peeping through our door to see what nonsense was happening in the room.

I miss you girls already! Come back soon and plan something for convocation! ๐Ÿ˜€

11 May

The night before my completely-don’t-understand-subject’s examination, I went on a Korean feast with my two beloved room mates!

A dish that I’ll never remember its name. Ahaha!

#2. Kimchi Hot Pot!

This is definitely yums because it’s a combination of both my favourites; instant noodles and hotpot! ๐Ÿ˜€

#3. Side dishes

The three of us totally over budgeted both our wallets and stomachs until we didn’t even ask refill for our side dishes!

But the drinks were of course refilled so many times till we were super bloated!

#4. Hungry Elen!

#5. Darling Hung Tong!

She was so excited over the dinner – Googled the directions to the nearest Dao Rae, shrieked countless times over pictures of Korean stars in the shop, read over and over again the menu, then ordered happily for us. ๐Ÿ˜€

It was a really happy dinner because first I get some time off books then I got real good quality chats with the two roomies. ๐Ÿ™‚ But I became ill after dinner because I got OD-ed with Kimchi. >.<

Felt like vomiting the whole time and everytime I feel like burping, I feel like kimchi was coming out from my throat. Yes I know, too much information ey? ๐Ÿ˜€

The roomies have always been a really really big part of my university life. Now that my uni life is completely over, I guess I won’t be seeing them as much as I want to. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Pre Grad Trip – The Second Day

7 May

Never got to really post about the second day after the first cause I have such moodswings I only blog about something I feel strongly about.

But since I got the first part already, it’s only right for me to finish it since it’s just a two days trip. ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 2 started with these yummy dearies!

Sean is seriously the best ‘tour guide’ I’ve met because he actually purposely went to get them for us after we jokingly told them we wanted to try them. ๐Ÿ˜€

If you think they are just plain ordinary curry puffs, you’re super wrong! They don’t have potatoes, curry powder nor do they eggs but instead they are filled with…

#2. Red Bean!

#3. Yam!

Strange how I was never really a fan of the two, I really liked that puff! ^^

Then we went to walk around the place we stayed (near Jonker Street) for a bit.

Clear blue sky also equals to hot burning sun directly on your skin. >.<

#5. Blue Moon?

#6. Louise

I know how this picture can be improved with it being straight at least but there’s something about it that I really like. Not sure what. ๐Ÿ™‚

After some prayings, we headed straight to eat some more!

#8. Cendol!

Why of course we must have some Cendol when we’re already at Malacca! This one’s from Bibik House, it’s not as sweet as the famous Jonker 88’s so it’s really good!

#9. Moon & Belle!

Guess what’s next?

#10. Nyonya Curry Mee!

Then after that…

#11. Blueberry Cheese Cake!

By the time we kao-tim the cheese cake, we were quite full already but really, how often do you get to visit Malacca? With such awesome company?

Well, not very often for me so we didn’t let the makan tour stop there. ๐Ÿ˜€ Headed to Nadeje!

#13. Mille crepe!

And guess what they have just down the row, about two to three shops away from Nadeje?

#14. Pork Satay!

The pork satay was a little over rated to me, personally. But since it’s my first time, I thought it was quite good. ๐Ÿ™‚ Little did I know we have it here too, according to my dad. =.=

#15. Chicken Rice Balls!

No idea why all of us became hungry again at this point of time. Ahaha! Perhaps the chicken rice was really too good to be resisted!

Then finally we left Malacca, back to KL around 4 or so.. Managed to catch the sun set from the highway!

Definitely a really good trip! Will miss them so so much. Can’t believe we’re all leaving in just a few days time!

Rhythm of LOVE!

7 May

I’ve been spamming my friends’ (and family of course) Facebook page with this video but I am still very hyped about it!

I was definitely in love with the song as soon as I heard it on the radio.

I remember asking my brother (who’s 7 years younger) who’s the singer and what’s the title because he knows all, I repeat ALL the songs on the radio!

Then I saw Plain White T’s original MV and was immediately in love with the video.

I thought I was really really at the top level of loving a song so much until my dear friend Malar posted this on my wall – Clara C & Joseph Vincent’s cover.

Super amazing! Makes me smile and dance (just a little) to the song every time I press the ‘replay’ button!ย โ™ฅ
