#1. Hi-Fibre Cheesecake

I am HOME!!! 🙂

Yes, I’m done with the exams (as mentioned a few hundred times on FB) so I’m back since Friday night.

I didn’t want to come home that early as there are still things unsettled in the university, like application procedures for the coming internship, scholarship, and laid-back sessions with the bunch. Hehe!

But it’s Mom and Fei’s birthday soon so better be home to not miss any celebration. Just in case.

And I was just in time for Fei’s surprise on Friday night itself.

Her long time buddy, Kylie and Malcolm came over with a High-Fibre Cheesecake (as shown above), which is one of the very few things Fei eat during her diet times.

#2. Malcolm, Fei, & Kylie

The surprise was a success, obviously. Fei is the blurrest person on Earth so it’s super easy to surprise her. 🙂

#3. The success!

If you guys haven’t noticed, Fei was still in her home clothes/pajamas. 🙂

She had no intentions to change pun despite the photo-taking and friends-coming-over.

Well, she’s just being herself I guess. 😉

Malcolm came with a guitar and played her the birthday song when they surprised her and for some reasons, my Mom cried.

Okay, so my Mom and Fei share the same birthday but still, they came for Fei.

Why is it that Mom was the one who cried?

No idea. Mom being herself, I guess. Haha!

#4. With Mom

Oh yah, it was the first time me meeting Malcolm actually.

Apparently Alyssa, also Fei’s long time buddy (Kylie, Alyssa and Fei were inseparable in school last time) and Kylie wanted to match-make Fei and him.

I keep telling Fei I’m with Aly and Kylie also!

Malcolm seems like a good guy! 🙂

Anyways, Heng is going to be back this Thursday! 🙂

Can’t wait, can’t wait!!!

The Big 21!

20 Sep

Yup, the big 21st for me finally came. 🙂

Unlike most of friends my age, I didn’t have any extravagant kind of celebration.

But that didn’t mean it was anything less special, in fact it was more memorable and meaningful. 🙂

Days before, the family and I had a feast at Chili’s Mid Valley.

Among the good food we had…

Mom and boss-of-the-day, XinYi.

And oh, that night, Boy looked so grown up!

My finally-grown-up-brother!!! 🙂

The line’s pretty unstable so I cannot upload other pictures of that night. Sorry!

On the big day itself, I was in college. As mentioned, nothing big but super memorable cause I had a lot of gifts from unexpected people.

First, mom sent me self-baked cupcakes from home!!

It’s written “Happy Birthday Min!”. Upclose picture of the cupcakes…

Damn nice, right!!! They tasted reaalllly goood too!!!

And Belle came back that night, too!! She gave me a very special and thoughtful present…

A small bottle of seashells and Starbucks gift voucher! Nice, right!!!

Then, there were gifts from the coursemates (Jo Ann, Lik Sheng and Pei Ling), Malar, Jin Hai, and Chai.

I was super happy and kind of contented already that night.

Only disappointment was my fellow ‘sisters’ didn’t get me anything.

And so, I thought maybe they didn’t have enough time to buy and was expecting a belated present the next day or so.

Unfortunately, a week passed, and NOTHING!

Another week went by and still nothing!

By then, I had already given up and am not expecting anything anymore. 😦

However, just few days ago, they surprised me with this…

A box full with presents!!! =D

I began digging in and unwrapping one after another.

The idea was that they gather 16 (supposedly 21) people, each with their own presents for me and put together in a box, so that I get to unwrap more presents at one time.

They had planned to only give me 25 days after my birthday as my birth date is on the 25th but I was going home earlier so they couldn’t wait and gave me 24 days after my birthday.

Are you jealous of me already for having such nice friends??? Wait till I show you what they gave… 🙂

These are from Wee Keng, Amos, Alan, Ang and Ban Hui. Louise and the rest bought these on their behalf as I suppose they don’t know what to buy. I think it’s the thoughts that count anyway, so thank you guys lots!!!

I know, I know.. You guys must be thinking, what the…? Biscuits, Nescafe and Maggie???

Here’s the story. These are from Li Peng and Siew Peng, both were my room mates for some time ago.

Staying in the same room as me, they know what I love eating most.

I once mentioned, MENTIONED only, to Li Peng that eating Marie biscuits with coffee is like the best combination, as so, she bought me Marie biscuits. 🙂

As for the instant noodles, Siew Peng has always seen me dulging into instant noodles during my first year. It’s surprising she got me a packet when she used to always lecture me for eating too much of instant noodles. 🙂

This is from a senior, Suet Wei. I was so touched to get something from her!!! She’s one of those seniors in college that I really look up to for being humble like that and hang out with us very often!

I don’t understand what’s written on the small card, though. Anyone mind translating? 🙂

This is from two of my current room mates, Kam Leng and Po Lian.

Another thoughtful one… Instant Campbelle soup, handphone key chain and a charm bracelet. 🙂

Rocky biscuits!! These are from Mandy.

Oh yah, one thing special about these gifts are that not only I was guessing what is the gift, I was also guessing who bought it.

Everything is so special cause the gifts resemble the person who bought them so much!!!

Like the Campbelle soup, so Kam Leng and the Rocky biscuits, it was either Mandy or Moon. 🙂

Hehe! The moment I saw this I knew it was from Tong and Juin. So them. 🙂

This!!! Stupid Moon!!! Just because I borrowed her socks the other day she bought me a new pair now!! And those mini sized instant noodles erasers, as I mentioned earlier, I am a huge fan of instant noodles. 🙂

What’s different is that these instant noodles are her favourite too!

See how excited she was!! 🙂

This is from Elen! My gosh, so predictable!! You should see the design of her slippers then you’ll know what I mean. Haha!! The funny thing is I was the one who bought her slippers. swt. 🙂

And this… My gosh, it was like screaming out loud, “Louise bought me!!!”

Don’t ask me why, I just knew who gave what cause they were buying things that resemble them soooo much!

I know many must have went through a lot of hassle to get this done. And I appreciate it very very much!

Thank you to everyone who made it so special for me.

It’s not about the good food or luxurious presents that makes a memorable birthday, it’s about spending it with people who wants you to be happy and that’s all that matters. 🙂

Qii Qii’s 3rd Birthday…

10 Jun

It was Qii Qii’s birthday party last Sunday at my house.

A rather simple one but I think she had a lot of fun! 😀

A small party with presents, of course…

and the typical kind of food you find in a party…

She usually doesn’t talk much and stays close to Aunty Lowell but that day, she was actually posing for pictures!

The ones who came were mostly relatives and some close friends. The BFFs came too! 😀

Well, a nice warm party it was, I would say. She was really excited with the layered-agar-agar cake my mom made for her. Qii Qii requested for a pink bear specifically. Not really a success but she liked it a lot nevertheless.

I know how lazy I sound in this post. Do bear with me. Just got back from Carey Island in Bangi to visit some orang asli village. Spent the whole day there. 😦

Tomorrow we’re going for our last car wash (thank God!!!). Gotta go now to get some rest.

p.s.: Just learned from XinYi on how to use this Flickr thing to edit pictures, so the pictures are a bit messy, sorry!

For the one in Labuan…

14 Apr
Its someone’s big day today!
And this someone is really special to me.
We’ve known each other for more than 3 years now.
3 years, not really that long but somehow, we managed to bond.
We even tried going out together but nah, our friendship is definitely more enjoyable than that.
So, who said a guy and a girl can never be just friends? =)

Together, we went to Port Dickson with a few others and that was the trip that brought us closer. Thank God you a bit thick faced that time and said you wanted to join us yourself. Hehe.

#1. PD trip
Our schooling days. How can I not mention them. Haha. This BFF happened to be my classmate too. Who disturbs me during Maths all the time. Ish.

Together, we skipped classes to collect newspapers,

Went on random school trips together,

And spent almost every night together with Loi during that 6 months break.

#7. In the airplane on the way back to KL

And CLUBS!!!

#8. woohoo~~~ I miss clubbing with you guys..

Then finally, the BFFs had to be separated. I know, I know, I should be at Labuan with you.. its not my fault I’m the…okay, not going to repeat that line again. XD

When I was at the airport to send you off, I really felt like crying. Its not fair for you guys to leave me alone here. Subang’s not the same without you guys.
But, I managed to hold back and kacau you. I know you don’t like emo girls. Hehe.

#9. SEE!! I was still smiling!! =)

Anyway, Heng, happy 21st! Hope you’ll have a great celebration there in Labuan that most probably involves liquor, so do take care of yourself k. Loi and I not there to jaga you so you better behave. =)
And please put an end to your singledom so that I’ll get a free meal Loi and I can stop worrying about you.
And, Heng, I know how ignorant I can be at times especially when I’m busy, so I’m sorry if I disappear every now and then. I may not call or SMS but that doesn’t mean I no longer care about you guys. You still must SMS to update me on Labuan k!!!
Lastly, happy 21st birthday again dear BFF. Miss you loads! *HUGS*

Pictures that make me smile everytime I see them. Hope they brightened up your day too!

p.s. I curi-ed these pics from FB. Hehe. So, thank you Jess and Dr

Of Roses, Dresses and A Drunk Friend

3 Mar
Last Friday (27th February ’09) I had a pretty memorable night.

It was my college’s so called biggest event, MAK which stands for Malam Anugerah Kurshiah. Well, Kurshiah is my college’s name and so Malam Anugerah Kurshiah is an event whereby they award students from my college who did a good job at something, may it be academics wise or college’s projects.

So, obviously I wasn’t one of the award recipients. BUT…..

I know, to most of you its no big deal but its my first time receiving flowers, ok! 11 roses in total, a bouquet of 8 was given by my ‘chi mui’s’ (Louise, Belle, Mandy, Elen, Pak Koon and Ah Chai) who realized I was pretty down lately, one from my beloved room mate!, one from a good friend and coursemate and one from an unknown sender. Before you guys start making assumptions that my whole point of telling is to let people know I got a secret admirer or something, let me just explain. I was and is still thrilled because these people send me gifts just because they want to make me happy or show a little gesture of appreciation. Means, I am not annoying people around me. Hehe!

#1. I really didn’t see them coming.. XD

#2. Pak Koon, Me, Mandy and Ah Chai

#3. Belle, Jia Wen, Miko, LOoO and I
#4. Mandy, Khar Khee and I
#5. Alan, Me, Belle, Loo

#6. 3rd Coll’s Lengchai and I
#7. Us

#8. Elen, Chian Ming, Ang and the three of us

After MAK, I met up with the guys to celebrate Danny’s 21st. We were supposed to go to MOS but apparently our booking burnt or something so we ended up at Republic. I guess I don’t have to tell also you guys expected we were all on the same mission, which was to get Danny drunk. HAHA! Not easy, I tell you. That fella can drink, so about 8 of us gang up and played this drinking game with him. Along the way, we cheated and kept adding liquor to his drink so finally, he went down. HAHA! Before that, he let all, and I mean ALL his dinner out. Super gross I tell you. Pity those Republic workers. But anyway, Danny did a lot of nonsense stuffs that kept us all laughing especially Aaron. He was the biggest but didn’t even offer to help carry Danny when he could no longer walk. And oh, when Danny was super drunk, we asked him who’s Audrey and he can still answer “My girlfriend”. If you’re reading this Drey, I hope you feel touched! HAHA!

#9. Danny is always happier when he’s drunk

#10. Danny, no longer able to stand, while fixing his pants

After sending Danny home and made sure he’s alright, I went back home. A good sleep at home always make me feel better after a long hectic week.

Big Day of the Beloved(s)

28 Nov

Stay short, cute, fussy, and full-of-nonsense auntie!!! I’ll keep in short here since I sms-ed you already..

May you be blessed with happiness and craziness always!

Also, today happened to be the birthday of someone who used to be very close to me. My dear grandma pass away peacefully last February, just a few days before Chinese New Year. I put her picture as my phone’s wall paper last night and when mom saw it, she claimed that it was rather disturbing. I felt strange that she’s her own daughter, yet she’s a bit afraid of my grandma cause she’s no longer around. Its such a pity that they chose to not think about her when I’m constantly reminding myself the things grandma usually does, the things she’ll say, how she used to tell me stories from the past, etc. I’m just scared that memories of her will fade away until I could no longer recall how she looks like. Anyway, where ever she is right now, I do hope she’s happy.

November Babies

Happy Birthday Mom and Xin Fei!!!

Yup, my mom and younger sister both celebrate their birthdays on the same day, which is today! I don’t think I wanna do the wishes here cause both of them won’t read this anyway. So let me tell a bit of their stories. I’ll start with my mom.
Back when I was a kid, even when I was a young teenager, I don’t really share my stuffs with her. She doesn’t know much on my school life; how involved I was in basketball, who was I having a crush on, who were my close friends, etc. I was considered the rebellious one among my siblings so I sort of kept a distance with my parents. However, in the recent years, my mom was becoming more of a sister to me. She now stays up to have chats with me and Xin Fei on what was going on or most of the time, our complaints. So yea, we’re bonding.

My little baby sister, Xin Fei has been really close to me since we were kids. I know, sisters are obviously close but Fei and I share this really special bond. We talk about things we won’t tell others even just a bit and more importantly, we understand each other very well. And to me, she’s always a baby cause she’s really dependent and she won’t complain even if someone takes advantage on her. There were times I had to stand up for her when someone messes with her. So yeah, she’s the nice, soft one and I’m the bossy, mean sister. =)
