30 Dec

It was just about an hour ago we parted ways and went back to our rooms, but I really want to blog everything before this excitement goes off!

I had (yet another) one of the best nights just now! ๐Ÿ™‚

It started off with a simple dinner at Picadilly near Section 14.

The place is really nice and the food is super reasonable!

His Lemon Chicken Rice at about RM6++

My Thai Fried Rice at RM6++ also. ๐Ÿ™‚

#3. Us. ๐Ÿ™‚

The 5th month is coming, hence the dinner.

Nothing extravagant but I guess you guys must have known by now that I’m such a laid back (lazy) person that a simple dinner like this makes me extremely happy already. ๐Ÿ™‚

Then we got back to surprise Louise, whose birthday had just passed like a week ago.

#4. Louise & the green cake

We purposely got her the pandan layered cake cause her favourite colour is green! ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, the cake looks extra green here because of the lighting lah. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And I must say, the King’s bakery at Section 14 is really good!

A lot of bakeries end up scribbling the words instead of really writing it out but this, not only it’s read-able, it’s also actually nice!

It was a really nice gathering with loads of jokes and laughter.

And this is why I chose to stay in 3rd college. ๐Ÿ™‚

Three In One!

19 Dec

Okay, I don’t think it’s been that long but I feel like I’ve abandoned the blog.

Sorry! To compensate, I’m going to update on three outings in one post!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, outing number one was shopping with Mrs Choong and XinFei.

It’s the year end sales so we shopped like from 10 am till 5 pm!

It’s the same duration as working morning shift ok!

But super satisfying! All of us bought stuffs we’ve been wanting to get!

I bought new bras, new top, and a skirt!

But I’m too lazy to take pictures of them. Hehe.

So, I got two pictures from the beginning of our day only.

#1. Christmas Deco in Pyramid

#2. Mrs Choong & Fei

Got back, then after dinner I got ready for the next outing.

Yes! Finally I get to go clubbiiiiiingg!!

Zouk it was, with Danny and the gang plus Karine!

Unfortunately I didn’t bring the camera along hence no pictures. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

And just last night,ย  Jessย hadย a party atย her place to celebrate her nephew Alex’s birthday!

The three of us, Jess, Heng and I coincidentally were all colour co-ordinated.

Haha! Unfortunately Iย don’t have any pictures of us threeย together.

#3. BFFs ๐Ÿ™‚

Loi was drinking, too that night!!

It was a really nice party, I would say cause we all get to eat, talk andย do laid back stuffs. Hehe.

We were at the multi purpose hall earlier then after the cake-cutting ceremony, we went back to Loi’s place.

Some watched movies..

Some stoned…

While some played card-reading or something like that. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Then it was the best part of all parties, the present-opening time!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Everyone was so excited! Haha!

By the way, the youngest little boy in the picture is Alexandar, the birthday boy. ๐Ÿ™‚

After everyone left, I stayed back with Heng, just to chat with Loi.

And so we stayed until 3am-ish then we left.

So what’s next, what’s next??

Nothing. T.T

Cause I’m going back to UM tomorrow morning. *big sigh

Of Awful Card and Grand Imperial

17 Nov

It’s 16th November (as I started out typing) and 16th November is a big day in the Choong’s.

It’s Mommy and Fei’s birthday. Yes, both of them share the same birthday. ๐Ÿ™‚

When the clock struck twelve, Fei presented Mom with a handmade card by Fei and I, signed by the rest of the family.

#1. The front cover

#2. The inside

ย Reason I’m posting it up here is not because I’m super proud of it.

But I think it’s super funny cause Fei’s artwork is like a kindergarden student’s. ๐Ÿ˜‰

She did the front cover, while I tried my best to makeย the insideย look more mature.

Really cannot do anything. Too colourful. ๐Ÿ™‚

Then just a moment ago, we went for dinner at the Grand Imperial (yes, again).

This time, we ordered the dishes ourselves, not the set kind of meal.

We had Peking Duck…

which they serve in such a way whereby the inside is…

super crunchy but not too oily duck skin. Super delicious!

Then we had some tofu thingy with vegetables.

I think it doesn’t look that good here but it’s seriously because the photographer (Ehem, me) suck.

The tofu was really good and that vege is my favourite vege! I think it’s called siu pak choy, small white vege. ๐Ÿ™‚

After that it was the lamb!

#6. Super yummy lamb!!!

I didn’t know they actually serve like this as in individual portions in Chinese restaurants and from the way they presented that heavenly tasty meat, it sure feels like I was at a Western restaurant.

And the lamb, they actually used erm… some kind of leaf as the spice. It’s called something like fat fong kam yip in Cantonese. Any idea what’s the English term for it?

Anyway, my point is it was so special and it tasted really really good!

The best part is each plate only cost RM7 something cause it was on promotion! ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, enough of lamb. We had eels too!!!

Not something my dad usually orders but really worth the try! It was very nice as well!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

The last time we had this prawn and broccoli thing and we liked it very much so here it is again!

Super big fat juicy prawn. ๐Ÿ™‚

After that they came with some noodles that was fried with the earlier Peking duck!

You eat the skin first with the sauce and popiah skin-like thing then you eat the meat with the noodles later. ๐Ÿ™‚

Okay, I know this may be a very common thing but it’s my first time!!!

Noodles were so-so only probably because I was a bit full already. ๐Ÿ™‚

And that’s all we ordered so no more dish lah, then the waitress did this to our napkins.

My dad say maybe they’re preparing us for desserts but we didn’t order any so we were hoping for free desserts. ๐Ÿ™‚

They were all minding their own businesses, so Fei and I went to the toilet. Hehe!

Toilet breaks are essential for girls!

There are more but I guess I should just keep it to myself. Haha!

When we went back, there were really free desserts and it happens to be one of my favourite desserts too!!!

#13. Tau Foo Fah! ๐Ÿ™‚

The bill then came and it was about RM400 which I think is quite worth it compared to the last time we went there.

No, obviously we didn’t get richer now.

It’s the big day of Mom and Fei after all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Divide the amount, it’s only RM200 per person actually. Haha.

Best part is, I didn’t even contribute a cent or any form of present besides the awful looking card to make their birthdays better. Sigh.

It’s the end of semester which also means my PTPTN habis already.

Another semester k darlings, and I promise I’ll get something really meaningful for you guys. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy belated birthday again Mommy and Fei!

14 Nov

#1. Hi-Fibre Cheesecake

I am HOME!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, I’m done with the exams (as mentioned a few hundred times on FB) so I’m back since Friday night.

I didn’t want to come home that early as there are still things unsettled in the university, like application procedures for the coming internship, scholarship, and laid-back sessions with the bunch. Hehe!

But it’s Mom and Fei’s birthday soon so better be home to not miss any celebration. Just in case.

And I was just in time for Fei’s surprise on Friday night itself.

Her long time buddy, Kylie and Malcolm came over with a High-Fibre Cheesecake (as shown above), which is one of the very few things Fei eat during her diet times.

#2. Malcolm, Fei, & Kylie

The surprise was a success, obviously. Fei is the blurrest person on Earth so it’s super easy to surprise her. ๐Ÿ™‚

#3. The success!

If you guys haven’t noticed, Fei was still in her home clothes/pajamas. ๐Ÿ™‚

She had no intentions to change pun despite the photo-taking and friends-coming-over.

Well, she’s just being herself I guess. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Malcolm came with a guitar and played her the birthday song when they surprised her and for some reasons, my Mom cried.

Okay, so my Mom and Fei share the same birthday but still, they came for Fei.

Why is it that Mom was the one who cried?

No idea. Mom being herself, I guess. Haha!

#4. With Mom

Oh yah, it was the first timeย me meetingย Malcolm actually.

Apparently Alyssa, also Fei’s long time buddy (Kylie, Alyssa and Fei were inseparable in school last time) and Kylie wanted to match-make Fei and him.

I keep telling Fei I’m with Aly and Kylie also!

Malcolm seems like a good guy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyways, Heng is going to be back this Thursday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Can’t wait, can’t wait!!!

The Big 21!

20 Sep

Yup, the big 21st for me finally came. ๐Ÿ™‚

Unlike most of friends my age, I didn’t have any extravagant kind of celebration.

But that didn’t mean it was anything less special, in fact it was more memorable and meaningful. ๐Ÿ™‚

Days before, the family and I had a feast at Chili’s Mid Valley.

Among the good food we had…

Mom and boss-of-the-day, XinYi.

And oh, that night, Boy looked so grown up!

My finally-grown-up-brother!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

The line’s pretty unstable so I cannot upload other pictures of that night. Sorry!

On the big day itself, I was in college. As mentioned, nothing big but super memorable cause I had a lot of gifts from unexpected people.

First, mom sent me self-baked cupcakes from home!!

It’s written “Happy Birthday Min!”. Upclose picture of the cupcakes…

Damn nice, right!!! They tasted reaalllly goood too!!!

And Belle came back that night, too!! She gave me a very special and thoughtful present…

A small bottle of seashells and Starbucks gift voucher! Nice, right!!!

Then, there were gifts from the coursemates (Jo Ann, Lik Sheng and Pei Ling), Malar, Jin Hai, and Chai.

I was super happy and kind of contented already that night.

Only disappointment was my fellow ‘sisters’ didn’t get me anything.

And so, I thought maybe they didn’t have enough time to buy and was expecting a belated present the next day or so.

Unfortunately, a week passed, and NOTHING!

Another week went by and still nothing!

By then, I had already given up and am not expecting anything anymore. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

However, just few days ago, they surprised me with this…

A box full with presents!!! =D

I began digging in and unwrapping one after another.

The idea was that they gather 16 (supposedly 21)ย people, each with their own presents for me and put together in a box, so that I get to unwrap more presents at one time.

They had planned to only give me 25 days after my birthday as my birth date is on the 25th but I was going home earlier so they couldn’t wait and gave me 24 days after my birthday.

Are you jealous of me already for having such nice friends??? Wait till I show you what they gave… ๐Ÿ™‚

These are from Wee Keng, Amos, Alan, Ang and Ban Hui. Louise and the rest bought these on their behalf as I suppose they don’t know what to buy. I think it’s the thoughts that count anyway, so thank you guys lots!!!

I know, I know.. You guys must be thinking, what the…? Biscuits, Nescafe and Maggie???

Here’s the story. These are from Li Peng and Siew Peng, both were my room mates for some time ago.

Staying in the same room as me, they know what I love eating most.

I once mentioned, MENTIONED only, to Li Peng that eating Marie biscuits with coffee is like the best combination, as so, she bought me Marie biscuits. ๐Ÿ™‚

As for the instant noodles, Siew Peng has always seen me dulging into instant noodles during my first year. It’s surprising she got me a packet when she used to always lecture me for eating too much of instant noodles. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is from a senior, Suet Wei. I was so touched to get something from her!!! She’s one of those seniors in college that I really look up to for being humble like that and hang out with us very often!

I don’t understand what’s written on the small card, though. Anyone mind translating? ๐Ÿ™‚

This is from two of my current room mates, Kam Leng and Po Lian.

Another thoughtful one… Instant Campbelle soup, handphone key chain and a charm bracelet. ๐Ÿ™‚

Rocky biscuits!! These are from Mandy.

Oh yah, one thing special about these gifts are that not only I was guessing what is the gift, I was also guessing who bought it.

Everything is so special cause the gifts resemble the person who bought them so much!!!

Like the Campbelle soup, so Kam Leng and the Rocky biscuits, it was either Mandy or Moon. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hehe! The moment I saw this I knew it was from Tong and Juin. So them. ๐Ÿ™‚

This!!! Stupid Moon!!! Just because I borrowed her socks the other day she bought me a new pair now!! And those mini sized instant noodles erasers, as I mentioned earlier, I am a huge fan of instant noodles. ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s different is that these instant noodles are her favourite too!

See how excited she was!! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is from Elen! My gosh, so predictable!! You should see the design of her slippers then you’ll know what I mean. Haha!! The funny thing is I was the one who bought her slippers. swt. ๐Ÿ™‚

And this… My gosh, it was like screaming out loud, “Louise bought me!!!”

Don’t ask me why, I just knew who gave what cause they were buying things that resemble them soooo much!

I know many must have went through a lot of hassle to get this done. And I appreciate it very very much!

Thank you to everyone who made it so special for me.

It’s not about the good food or luxurious presents that makes a memorable birthday, it’s about spending it with people who wants you to be happy and that’s all that matters. ๐Ÿ™‚

Qii Qii’s 3rd Birthday…

10 Jun

It was Qii Qii’s birthday party last Sunday at my house.

A rather simple one but I think she had a lot of fun! ๐Ÿ˜€

A small party with presents, of course…

and the typical kind of food you find in a party…

She usually doesn’t talk much and stays close to Aunty Lowell but that day, she was actually posing for pictures!

The ones who came were mostly relatives and some close friends. The BFFs came too! ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, a nice warm party it was, I would say. She was really excited withย the layered-agar-agar cake my mom made for her. Qii Qii requested for a pink bear specifically. Not really a success but she liked it a lot nevertheless.

I know how lazy I sound in this post. Do bear with me. Just got back from Carey Island in Bangi to visit some orang asli village. Spent the whole day there. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Tomorrow we’re going for our last car wash (thank God!!!). Gotta go now to get some rest.

p.s.: Just learned from XinYi on how to use this Flickr thing to edit pictures, so the pictures are a bit messy, sorry!

For the one in Labuan…

14 Apr
Its someoneโ€™s big day today!
And this someone is really special to me.
Weโ€™ve known each other for more than 3 years now.
3 years, not really that long but somehow, we managed to bond.
We even tried going out together but nah, our friendship is definitely more enjoyable than that.
So, who said a guy and a girl can never be just friends? =)

Together, we went to Port Dickson with a few others and that was the trip that brought us closer. Thank God you a bit thick faced that time and said you wanted to join us yourself. Hehe.

#1. PD trip
Our schooling days. How can I not mention them. Haha. This BFF happened to be my classmate too. Who disturbs me during Maths all the time. Ish.

Together, we skipped classes to collect newspapers,

#2. Newspaper collection days

Went on random school trips together,

#3. FRIM trip

Bullied Loi together at times, usually Loi and I bully him one

#4. US

Then, we graduated from school.

And spent almost every night together with Loi during that 6 months break.

Random trips to the shopping mall,

#5. With the super SS midget BFF from U.S.

#6. By the i-forgot-what-is-the-name beach
#7. In the airplane on the way back to KL

And CLUBS!!!

#8. woohoo~~~ I miss clubbing with you guys..

Then finally, the BFFs had to be separated. I know, I know, I should be at Labuan with you.. its not my fault Iโ€™m theโ€ฆokay, not going to repeat that line again. XD

When I was at the airport to send you off, I really felt like crying. Its not fair for you guys to leave me alone here. Subangโ€™s not the same without you guys.
But, I managed to hold back and kacau you. I know you donโ€™t like emo girls. Hehe.

#9. SEE!! I was still smiling!! =)

Anyway, Heng, happy 21st! Hope youโ€™ll have a great celebration there in Labuan that most probably involves liquor, so do take care of yourself k. Loi and I not there to jaga you so you better behave. =)
And please put an end to your singledom so that Iโ€™ll get a free meal Loi and I can stop worrying about you.
And, Heng, I know how ignorant I can be at times especially when Iโ€™m busy, so Iโ€™m sorry if I disappear every now and then. I may not call or SMS but that doesnโ€™t mean I no longer care about you guys. You still must SMS to update me on Labuan k!!!
Lastly, happy 21st birthday again dear BFF. Miss you loads! *HUGS*

Pictures that make me smile everytime I see them. Hope they brightened up your day too!

p.s. I curi-ed these pics from FB. Hehe. So, thank you Jess and Dr
ey for tagging!!
