Of Carlsbergs, Harry and Assessments

20 Jul

For unknown reasons, I feel super happy this morning when I woke up!

Probably because I haven’t had my usual 11hours sleep since Friday (oh, so I do know the reason :p) and a sleep-deprived me is super grumpy.

And yes, I need 11 hours of sleep so I was just counting to myself if I start working and needs to wake up at say, 6am everyday I will have to sleep at 7pm! wtf I’ll probably still be in the office at 7pm =.=

So anyways, things got a little busy last week. πŸ™‚ – happy face because I feel so productive!

Yean needed an emergency meeting with us so Cass and I had a mini drinking session with her last Wednesday. πŸ™‚

#1.

Okay, so it wasn’t really that mini cause we had quite a lot of beer that night. Well, they had most of it, I stopped after my second cup of Carlsberg cause I really don’t fancy beer. >.<

And it was so last minute, Cass and I were in the wrong dress codes for a drinking session like that. LOL But it was a really good meet up I would say. πŸ™‚

On Thursday, I managed to meet up with my favourite friends to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. We bought our tickets a week before that so not only did we managed to get tickets on that day itself, we got pretty good seats. πŸ™‚

#2.

As usual, we dined at one of the shops with pretty good food, comfortable environment and best of all, really really reasonable prices!

#3.

#4.

Us messing around with the iPad 2 at the store and when we couldn’t keep the original copy, we decided to take pictures of them. πŸ™‚

The movie was really really gooooood! And I’ve been telling this over and over again, but when Voldemort died in the movie, I was actually really sad because that means it’s really over. 😦

Then on Friday, we had a networking dinner with the Boston Consulting Group. πŸ™‚

#5. The Poo Couple!

#6. Sayang & I

The night would’ve been better if more people could come *tsk Pei Ling please sedar I’m talking about you πŸ˜› * but it was still good to see everyone after such a long time. Hehe!

Then the following days were occupied with assessments after assessments and interviews. And yeah, that was the exhausting part of the week because whenever I have an interview coming up, I would be half awake all night. >.<

So it’s Wednesday already and I haven’t had any yumcha sessions this week. Should probably plan something. πŸ™‚ Have a good week people!

Reunion Dinners!

20 Feb

Many said the CNY this year felt really short but I for one think it should really end soon (well, I only came to this realization on the day before Chap Goh Mei or something) because it’s another excuse for people (like me) to eat eat and EAT!

First you have reunion with the family and relatives…

#1.

Had a mini pot luck reunion again at my home after we got back from Ipoh…

#2.

Then reunion with college’s Chinese Club…

#3. Upon leaving college...

#4. With Mandy & Mei Wei

#5. With the family!

#6.

One table with ten girls and that was the amount we whallop! xD

And then there’s reunion with course mates, members from PEKUMA…

#7.

Then just this random dinner my parents decided to go on with because it was Chap Goh Mei…

#8.

First time trying this dish called, ‘Pun Choi’ and I think it’s yums! πŸ˜€

But seeeeeeeeriously… I think I had a bit too much of reunion dinners. >.<

Eating Spree At Ipoh!

27 Dec

Holidays this semester have been real productive! Just after the Langkawi trip, the same lot minus XinYi headed up to Genting Highlands cause the parents bought tickets to watch veteran singer Jenny’s last concert.

Then after that, the girls –Β Jo Ann & Pei Ling came over forΒ a mini slumber party at my place. We did a bit of economy boosting (in simpler non-economics term that’s shopping) but the sleepover was mainly occupied with gossips. πŸ˜€ Well, we do what we do best after all!

The next morning, we headed to KL Central to catch our train to head up north! To Ipoh! Liew and Vincent came with us too!

Clare was our tour guide and we went to the famous ‘Tai Shu Keok’ after unloading our luggages at my uncle’s place.Β

#1.

Β This is a must-visit place in Ipoh if you’re there for a food trip, like us!

This place serves really nice fried sengkuang!Everytime the family and I go back to Ipoh, we will stock up loads of fried sengkuang to be eaten in the car and home! It’s just too yummy to be resisted and so far I haven’t seen any of these in Subang or KL.

#2. Yummy fried sengkuang!

#3. Liew! πŸ˜€

Liew was having this Iced Red Bean as well and another thing about Ipoh that I realized is they serve quite a variety of beverages. Maybe I’m not that much exposed to KL/Subang food but as far as I know, we don’t have Iced Red Bean like that! Even if we do have them here, I’m definitely sure they don’t serve it as the same rate as Ipoh. πŸ™‚

We had a really satisfying lunch with awesome fried sengkuangsΒ and the best part is when we split the bill, each of us had to pay RM3 only! We all had a bowl of noodles each and a variety of ‘snacks’ at the middle and we paid for RM3 only! πŸ˜€

After lunch, we headed to Kek Look Tong for some sight-seeing.

#4. The two darlings!

It’s quite a beautiful place with the sculptures and all placed inside a cave. Too bad IΒ felt a little awkward acting like a tourist, snapping shots after shots around Ipoh since it’s actually my hometown and I come back everytime there’s a festival. So yeah, in the end I didn’t take much pictures.

Nevertheless, I captured what needs to be captured! Like this picture of a sculpture at Kek Look Tong,

#5.

It’s really random but this reminded us of Lik Sheng since Pei Ling calls him shit. Haha!

So after Kek Look Tong, we headed to have some desserts!

#6.

#7. Tau foo fah!

Funny Mountain’s tau foo fah is super nice! And one bowl is only RM0.80! o.O Do you still get anything in a bowl for that price? And it’s actually really smooth and nice! Strangely, all my 22 years going back Ipoh at least 3 times a year I have never been there. πŸ˜€

And when I got back, the parents were telling me they use to have their dating moments there and one bowl only costs RM0.10 back then! Okay, that was at least 25 years ago, so 10cents per bowl is reasonable. πŸ™‚

Our eating spree didn’t just stop at Funny Moutain. We headed to some coffee shop near the ‘suicidal building’ (as according to our tour guide) for some Ipoh White Coffee!!!

#8.

Seriously good coffee we had! Yeah, you might get it here but it’s totally different (to me, at least) having something at the place of its origin!

We were seriously bloated after the coffee so Clare let us back to my uncle’s place to rest a bit before picking us up for dinner. We really planned on napping but when us girls get together, we just yap all the way! πŸ˜€

Soon, dinner came and for dinner we had…

#9. Ipoh taugeh!

#10.

Ipoh ‘nga choi kai’! Well, when the taugeh came the girls and I were laughing to ourselves over some stupid joke Lik Sheng came up with.

Stupid but quite a good one. Haha! He once said Jo Ann’s like KL’s bean sprouts cause she’s tall and thin but I’m like Ipoh’s cause I’m…well, I’m well-nourished! πŸ˜€

So after dinner we were planning to have some desserts but it was raining the whole time so we didn’t make it in the end. We had a good time chatting at Clarence’s place with his mom then we headed back. And yes, again we yapped the night away so the girls especially, didn’t sleep that early.

The next morning, we all got up real early to have some dim sum for breakfast!

#11. Sayang looking good!

#12.

Look how much we ordered!!! Ahaha! It was really unintentional because the Ipoh dim sum waitresses got real good marketing skills so we didn’t get to cancel most of the orders.

We managed to stuff everything down and got it all cleared. Well, that lasted us the whole morning! Didn’t even get to go ahead with our original plan; to have some Ipoh Hor Fun after that. That afternoon, we hung around Ipoh Parade to let the guys get some eye-washing done. πŸ™‚

#13. Liew & I

#14. Vincent & Jo Ann

The walking radio (Vincent LOL) suddenly decided to participate in the blood donation happening at the concourse area. He was saying something about losing weight, getting fairer and stuff after donating blood so he went without much hesitation. πŸ˜€

#15.

#16.

Seriously, his randomness are hilarious at times! Haha! Who would go for blood donation in the middle of a holiday?? And what’s even weirder is Liew also participated in the blood donation after that.

#17. Us, the supporters from the side.

Haha! Yeah, all we did was to just sit by their side and gave them full moral support!

Not long after that, we got some Ipoh cookies/pastries back for the parents and headed to the railway station to catch our train home. πŸ™‚

#18.

All in all, the trip was seriously short and simple but I did have a great time with the course mates, especially the girls. Just spending the night with plain gossips and updates is good quality moments with them! πŸ˜€

Girly Way to Celebrate Freedom!

13 Dec

I’m done, I’m done!!!

Things didn’t go as well as I thought with my last paper (Monetary Economics I) but screw it, what’s done is done so I moved on and adjourned to the long ago planned movie marathon with the girls!

#1. Rapunzel, A Tangled Tale

I watched Rapunzel again and also…

#2. The Social Network

Well, yeah just two movies but considering the fact that we’ve stayed up to study for the morning paper two were enough to exhaust us.

In between the movies, we roamed around the empty Tropicana City Mall.

There weren’t really a lot of interesting shops there but we did have some fun in Toys R Us. πŸ˜€

#3. The 'Sayang' πŸ™‚

#4. Our favourite Maid! πŸ™‚

Definitely a day well spent before I headed home with my sisters the next day.

Oh well, with XinYi it’s impossible to head straight home. So we ended up at Mid Valley for lunch. The concourse area in Mid Valley is fully decorated with Christmas decorations as well so I took Fei over to take a few shots. πŸ™‚

#5.

#6.

#7.

#8.

Found the best place to camwhore! The escalator to The Garden’s carpark’s got really good lights! πŸ˜€

Xin Yi’s outing didn’t just end at The Garden’s/Mid Valley. We headed to Lisa’s place @The Nails’ Sanctuary at Taipan to pamper ourselves somemore!

#9. XinYi getting her pedicure done

I got mine done too! But I’m saving the picture of it for my next post cause I purposely chose this particular nail art to match my new slippers! πŸ˜€

And yeah, if any of you girls are looking for a place to do manicure, pedicure, massage, facial, waxing etc etc I highly recommend Nails’ Sanctuary! It’s above 7-Eleven at Taipan USJ! Really really reasonable prices and they really use everything from OPI! πŸ˜€

So that pretty much wrapped my girly outing. Come back soon okay cause I’ve got updates about my holidays at Langkawi!!

Of Sets of Friends

18 Sep

Semester break’s been occupied with four sets of friends!

LOL. First set would definitely be the BFFs; Loi & Heng. Second set is coursemates, third set is the high school girls; Yean, Cass & Ivie and lastly the form 6 buddies.

So, I went to I-City (again, yes I know) this time with the second set!

#1. Corolla! πŸ˜€

Went in two cars, two bosses drove us there. πŸ™‚

#2. With the darling TBG

#3. With the sayang

Well, as I said earlier, I-City is just about the lighted decorations all over the place. So basically we just snap around! πŸ˜€

#4. Them two

#5. The lovebirds

#6. The girls

#7. The guys

Then just last night, had the whole night with a mixture of first and fourth set.

It was Justine, Jess’s sister’s birthday. So we were at her place for the party and Jing Sheng introduced this game called Monopoly Deal to us.

#8.

I was having so much fun playing because it’s a faster version of Monopoly and definitely more evil one so it’s more fun!! πŸ˜€

#9. Justine with Alexander

Headed over to Chill Out after the cake-blowing to meet up with the Form 6 bunch.

#10. Cass

Continued with Monopoly Deal. πŸ˜€

#11. Deal Breaker

Β My favourite card from the deck! πŸ˜€

#12.

#13. Clockwise from top - Myself, Cass, Jess & Carol

#14. Loi, JS & myself

Semester break has come to an end and I really haven’t enjoyed myself as much as I wanted.

But oh wells, I cannot be blaming myself and have that self-guilt which will only ruin my last day of freedom.

Shall go get ready to go back to the hostel tomorrow! πŸ™‚

Hope you guys had a good holiday/weekend!

Of Productive Saturdays!

6 Sep

Some pictures from the PEKUMA and FEA Night committee photo shoot that I missed out on earlier.

#1. Meddy, Pei Ling, Jo Ann, Lik Sheng and I

#2.

And just last Saturday, PEKUMA got invites to the OSK Investment Tips Seminar!

#3. Seats reserved for PEKUMA

#4. Some of us who went

The seminar was really insightful to me, personally.

The speakers kept saying those wereΒ just the fundamentals but guess what, we’re not even exposed to the basics in our syllabus so it was really good!!!

#5. One of the speakers, Chris

#6. Speakers from OSK

So after the seminar, there were light refreshments and then we went around mingling with some of the OSKIC officers we got to know from earlier events andΒ also representatives of other IPTA/IPTS.

#7. Liew, Paul, Madelyn and Jo Ann

#8. Us with Jacky, Danny, Louis and Steve

Β At about 1pm-ish we moved on to Petaling Street to help prepare some stuffs for FEA Night.

We all became members of the souvenir department that day. πŸ˜€

#9.

Goof-ed around in Lik Sheng’s comfy house. πŸ˜€

#10. The attempt to really test KKL's existence. >.<

#11.

Then straight from Lik Sheng’s house off I went to Empire for dinner with Aunt Lowell!

It’s always fun to meet her and the family because of these two cuties!!!

#12. Qii Qii

#13. Hung Hung

We were treated to yummy-licious mooncakes by Xin Yi after dinner!

#14. Haagen-Dazs!

Another day productively spent! β™₯

#15. This kid is β™₯!!!

Of Unproductive Shopping & Shabu One

5 Sep

Chong Jo Ann, Loo Pei Ling and I decided to shop for real one fine day.

Shop for real, meaning we spend the entire day on nothing else but to shop for our dress. πŸ™‚

We were all looking for ankle-length ones but at the very beginning we already went out of our objective.

#1.

First stop that we really tried on the clothes were at Kitschen.

Lingered around Times Square a while more then we went off to Sungei Wang where there are apparently more dresses at very cheap prices! *big bright eyes

#2.

The girls brought me to Metrojaya and completely spoilt me.

After trying the above dress from Somerset Bay (not sure of the spelling) which costs way more than my budget, I just can’t imagine buying the others in those smaller boutiques in Sungei Wang.

Walked aimlessly around again as we were all rather lost in SW, we finally decided to move on to Lot 10.

I so prefer Lot 10, especially Debenhams! β™₯ OMG the dresses there are all so pretty!!

But also very expensive. 😦 So again, we shifted malls.

This time, to somewhere with even slighter chance; Pavilion.

#3. Us three!

Despite being completely unproductive, I was really enjoying myself with them two.

They’re seriously such good companies, you’ll get addicted to them. >.<

Wandered around some more and then Madelyn and Christine finally reached and joined us as well!! πŸ˜€

#4.

I am really suspecting it’s a jinx now to really shop with them because everytime we said we’re going shopping, we end up torturing our feet with no returns.

#5. The exhausted Pei Ling

#6. Jo Ann in her LaLa Land, as usual...

#7. With Christine

But we sure had good laughs in between, so it’s not all that bad. πŸ˜‰

#8. Shabu One

The guys then reached at about 8pm and we went to Shabu One for their steamboat!!!

They had promotions for students and seriously, I’m going to make sure I make full use of my last year as a student by using up all these privileges! *kiasu mode on*

#9.

Super nice place to steamboat with the gang!!! β™₯

#10.

Awesome possum dinner ended with some of us gagging, feel like throwing up and what not. Lol! Seriously kiasu.

I’m soΒ getting ‘addicted’ to them. T.T
